History of Condes de Visconti Hotel
A charming Hotel in Tarazona
The Condes de Visconti is one of the charming hotels in and around Tarazona, owing to, among other things, its location in a family mansion constructed in the XVI Century, during the Spanish Renaissance.
The mansion is situated in the street of the same name in the city of Tarazona and was constructed when, following the commercial renovation of the city during this era, the old nobility abandoned the Islamic neighbourhood known as El Cinto and descended to the lower area close to the then new Casa Consistorial.
Originally belonging to the Navarro family of Yturen and later passing, in the XIX Century, by marriage, to the Visconti family.
In this way the descendants of the Visconti family initiated their presence in the city of Tarazona, becoming illustrious personalities in the world of politics, banking and law, at both local and national levels.
The mansion of the Visconti family is a building constructed according to the best Aragonese Mudejar tradition. The most characteristic elements are the overall use of brickwork, its three storeys, and most of all the intricate finishings in the gallery in wood and brick.
All these design features bestow on the Hotel Condes de Visconti personality and an admirable identity.
In the restoration of the building all the architectural and decorative elements of the period were painstakingly respected, especially in the Renaissance Patio which is typically Aragonese, adorned with four beautiful Tuscan stone pillars.
The Hotel rooms, Patio and Restaurant were designed and decorated with the greatest care in creating distinct ambience and moods, with attention to the littlest detail. In this way we have been able to place at your service a charming hotel, so that you may have an unforgettable experience within this historic setting.
